Gosainkunda Pilgrimage Heli Tour offers a once in a lifetime experience to perform a sacred religious pilgrimage journey from the ease and comfort of a Heli ride. This is the perfect journey for anyone who wants to visit this holy lake but is limited by time or physical constraints. The tour will be completed in a little over 2 hours and all the travelling will be done via Heli or vehicle, making this tour accessible to pretty much everyone.

Situated at an elevation of 4,380m and spread out over 4 sq. miles, Gosainkunda is an alpine freshwater lake that lies just past the Laure Binayak pass in the Langtang region. The lake typically remains frozen from October to June, and then melts into the Trishuli River. Generally, Gosainkunda Lake is reached via a week long trek. The lake receives a huge influx of pilgrims, numbering to thousands during the festive periods of Janai Purnima and Gangadashahara. The lake is sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. The myth behind the origin of Gosainkunda is quite interesting too. It states; when Lord Shiva drank the poison, he thrust his trident into the mountain to reap some water so that he could cool his stinging throat. The region, home to 108 lakes, is also said to be one of the abodes of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri.

However, the tour isn’t a purely religious pilgrimage trip. There is much more to explore and enjoy here. For one, there’s the hospitality and culture of the locals, which mostly comprise of Tamang and Gurung people. Then, there’s also the breathtaking scenery viewable around the lake, as well as the eagle’s eye view of the whole region from the Heli.

Gosainkunda Pilgrimage Heli Tour is easily the fastest and most convenient way to reach Gosainkunda Lake and explore the region. Book your trip with us for the best experience at the most reasonable price!

Trip Itineraries

Expand All

You will be picked up from your hotel after breakfast and escorted to TIA. From there, you will hop on the Heli for a scenic hour long flight to Gosainkunda Lake. Heading north of Kathmandu, we will first fly over Sundarijal and then witness numerous small villages along the way. Eventually, we will fly over the Laure Binayak pass (4,610m) before landing near the lake. You will be able to enjoy stunning aerial views of the Manaslu range, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma and more during your flight.

Once at Gosainkunda, you will have around half an hour or so to spend as you see fit. You may perform some Havana Puja (worshipping ritual) on the lake’s premises, take a dip into the holy lake or simply hike around the area for a while and take some memorable pictures. Either way, after about 30 minutes, it will be time for the return journey. As we have ascended from around 1,400m (Kathmandu) to 4,380m (Gosainkunda) in the span of just one hour, our bodies won’t be used to the altitude. Altitude sickness can be a real threat at this altitude if not taken seriously. Thus, we will leave for Kathmandu after just half an hour.

On your way back to the capital, you will once again be able to admire sights of various snowcapped peaks around the Langtang region. The whole journey will take only 2 hours or so to complete. Once we land at TIA, our service will be completed and we will bid you farewell, hoping to see you again!
