Our Holy Tour 10 Days package takes you across Nepal’s major cities and their most religious sites. From Pashupatinath and Boudhanath in the capital to Muktinath high in the mountains and back to Janaki Temple in the lowlands of the Terai region, there is a lot to explore on this tour.

Nepal is a country immensely rich in terms of religion, history, traditions and culture. From millennia old Hindu temples to amazing Buddhist stupas, there are a vast number of structures across the country with a lot of religious significance behind them. Our journey will begin in Nepal’s city of temples, Kathmandu, where there were once said to be as many temples as there were houses.

The 10 Day Holy Tour will first take you from Kathmandu to the lakeside city of Pokhara. While travelling along the Prithivi highway, we will have a side trip in Gorkha to the holy Manakamana temple. After staying a night in Pokhara, we will catch a scenic flight to Jomsom, followed by a short further drive to the Muktinath Temple. Muktinath is dedicated to the Hindu godhead Vishnu, but the temple carries great significance for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Once we’re done exploring the temple, we will return to Jomsom and spend a night there. Another scenic flight will have us in Pokhara the next morning. The whole day will be spent touring around the lakeside city. There are numerous temples to visit in Pokhara as well, such as the Tal Barahi temple and the Gupteshwor Mahadev temple.

Next, we will have a 5-6 hour drive along the Siddhartha highway to the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Lumbini. We will take another day off to fully explore the various interesting locations around Lumbini. The major ones include the Sacred Garden, the Maya Devi temple, the Pushkarini Pond and the Tilaurkot palace along with a host of minor stupas and monasteries.

The day after the Lumbini tour, we will hit the road yet again for a full day of driving to Janakpur. Janakpur is the supposed birthplace of Janaki (Goddess Sita) and home to an amazing masterpiece of Koiri architecture, the Janaki Temple. According to myths, Sita chose Ram as her husband and their marriage happened in a nearby temple during the Ramayana period. After exploring the temple complex for a few hours, we will depart for Kathmandu.

For our last tour, we will explore the various millennia old religious structures around the capital. These archaic locations have all been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Beginning with the Morning Prayer at Pashupatinath, we will visit Boudhanath, Swayambhunath and even the old palace over the course of the day. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is the holiest pilgrimage destination across all of Nepal for Hindus. Similarly, the Boudhanath Chaitya is one of the largest Buddhist stupas with great religious significance. The hilltop stupa/temple complex of Swayambhunath is also shrouded in interesting myths and legends, as well as historical ties to the origin of life in the valley itself. Finally, if time permits, we will also visit the historic old palace of Kathmandu, the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

The Holy Tour 10 Days ends the next day in Kathmandu. This enlightening and amazing journey across Nepal’s most significant religious sites is sure to be quite an experience. Book your trip with us for the best service at the most reasonable prices!

Today, we will visit our first major religious site, Muktinath. First, we head to the Pokhara airport to catch a flight to Jomsom. Muktinath is located at a distance of around 25 km from Jomsom and can be reached in an hour or so via Jeep. After the jeep ride, you will need to hike further for 10-15 mins to reach the temple.

Known as a place of liberation, Muktinath attracts thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims every year. There are various interesting spots to explore nearby, including the holy ponds, 108 water spouts and the perpetually burning flame at Jwala Mai. You may also go collect some Shaligrams, which are said to be a form of Lord Vishnu, if you like.
After a while, we will trek back down to our jeep for the return drive to Jomsom. As it is unlikely that there will be a return flight to Pokhara on the same day, we will instead spend the night at a lodge in Jomsom.

We will rise early today to visit the Janaki Mandir, a breathtaking model of Koiri architecture with a lot of religious significance. The temple is also popularly known as Nau Lakha Mandir, referring to the cost of its construction (Nine Lakhs i.e. Nine Hundred Thousand Rupees). This temple dedicated to Janaki (Sita) is over a century old, as it was constructed in 1910 AD. Once we’re done exploring this huge temple complex, we will head back to the hotel. Afterwards, we will have an afternoon drive back to Kathmandu.

With our tour almost at an end, we will have one more day of exploration; this time around the archaic capital. Also sometimes called the city of temples, Kathmandu is home to numerous religious, cultural and historical sites. Our tour will begin early in the morning at Pashupatinath, where we will witness the morning Aarati (ritual) taking place. Then, we’ll head over to Boudhanath for breakfast, which is only a few kilometers away. Next, we will visit Swayambhunath, a hilltop Stupa surrounded by numerous small Hindu and Buddhist shrines. Finally, on our way back to the hotel, we will stop at the old palace, the Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, you will have free time to explore Thamel and purchase some souvenirs if you wish.
